We Are His People: The Sheep Of His Flock.
Today’s Readings: It is pleasant to pick up our
Bible and reread our favorite passages. It is also comforting to take Scripture
courses so that we grow more familiar with the biblical authors and their
audiences. It is especially gratifying to cite chapter and verse. While all of
these experiences relate to the Word of God, by themselves they are inadequate.
The real challenge of knowing the Scriptures is to incorporate the message of
the text into our lifestyle. Far from being a dead letter, the Word is intended
to be a living reality. Today’s readings speak of people who let the Word live
in their lives.
The Word of God lives on in
the words we speak in our daily life. It is the word of fidelity we express in
our marriage vows. It is the word of honesty we articulate in our business
agreements. It is the word of support we convey in our friendships. As modern
Christians, we are challenged to let the Word of God have impact on our other
words. It is a question of imitating the examples of Paul and of the victors in
the Book of Revelation – a question of following Jesus. The real challenge of
knowing the Bible is to let it live in our lives.
COLLECTION FOR THE
CHURCH IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE: The
Church in this region continues to have great needs for its essential pastoral
work. Your donations invest in future generations of Catholics: a gift of faith
to the future.
SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR VOCATIONS also the weekend of April 24-25 in the deanery to
support the Scioto Co. Vocations Committee as they continue to nurture
Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life.

Thank You
Dear Fr. Ted and St. Mary’s Parish,
Thanks so much for your
thoughtful and generous donation to St. Lucy’s Sober House. There are often 10
women getting treatment and housing at St. Lucy’s. Your contribution will
greatly inpact their lives and help St. Lucy’s stay open so others can receive
help also. I plan to touch base with you to keep you posted on this much-needed
ministry to addicted people in Scioto County.
Sincerely,
Jay
Hash, All Saints Church
(Note: St. Mary’s contributed $379.65, which
was collected at our Lenten” simple
suppers”.)
St. Mary Parish,
We wish to thank everyone
for the gifts of food, flowers, love, caring and sharing at the time of our
loss.
We thank God for our
wonderful St. Mary’s family and Fr. Ted.
May God bless you all.
Ken’s
(Petrey) family

From the Pastor’s Desk
On behalf of Bishop Campbell, I encourage you to support the Bishop’s
Annual Appeal that begins this weekend. The Appeal extends the ministry of
the Church to all throughout the 23 counties of the Diocese of Columbus. Our
parish family has been asked to raise $33,303.00. Regardless the gift
amount, it is in the participation of all that we will succeed. As you
prayerfully reflect upon a gift in proportion to your financial resources,
please know that Bishop Campbell and I are grateful to you for your sacrifice.
Please make your gift today or consider making your pledge next weekend.
Thank you and may God bless
you.
