O Lord our God, how wonderful Your name in all the earth!
Today’s Readings: There is a familiar saying,
“Two’s company; three’s a crowd.” Today’s celebration of the mystery of the
Trinity powerfully suggests that three is not always a crowd. We are bidden to
take the love of the triune God and share that love with others. We cannot
hoard the love we receive from the Trinity. To believe in the Trinity is to
announce that three’s not a crowd and that we, as Christians, are willing to
spread God’s love all around.
The goodness of our triune
God can manifest itself in a variety of ways through our actions. Like the
Wisdom Woman, we can be guides to the erring and so reveal a God of concern.
Like the psalmist, we can be the chanters singing of both human and divine
beauty and so proclaim the wonders of a God of love. Like the afflicted Roman
Christians, we can boast of our hope for God’s glory. Like the Spirit-filled
prophet in John’s Gospel, we can inquire into the ever new significance of
Jesus’ message and so communicate a God of compassion. In all such cases, we
announce that the love and concern of God expressed in the actions of Father,
Son, and spirit extends to all human persons.
OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED THIS MONDAY FOR MEMORIAL DAY.
