You are a priest forever, in the Line of Melchizedek.
Today’s Readings: We are often tempted to regard
eating and drinking as a rather personal enterprise. We nourish our bodies but
do not become involved in the lives of those gathered around our dinner table.
The readings for today, however, urge us to see meals as a communal enterprise.
Against the background of the Eucharistic meal at which all Christians feast on
the same spiritual food, we are challenged to become involved in the lives of
our sisters and brothers. Since we also share in the food generated on this
planet, we all, in effect, eat at the common earthly table. Far from being
passive onlookers, we are to become active participants in the needs and
concerns of others. To share a meal is to share oneself with all one’s table
partners.
The celebration of the
Eucharist cannot be a private devotion that does not affect the rest of our
lives. It is a meaningful and dynamic undertaking when the Christian community
proclaims the death of the Lord. It implies that Christ’s death style must
become the Christian’s lifestyle. In eating and drinking, we recommit ourselves
to serve the Christ who is manifest in the needs and problems of our brothers
and sisters. With this celebration, we should pay special attention to the needs
of our brothers and sisters who suffer from famine. Ultimately, to share our
Eucharistic meal is to share ourselves.

your own tools. Sounds like FUN!! If you are interested call office and let us
know the area you are interested in.

Youth Summer Camp this summer at Camp Otyokwah. We will accept donations for
the dinner to help defray the cost. CYSC is aligned with the goals and
components of youth ministry as set forth in “Renewing the Vision” (the
Catholic Church’s blueprint for the continued development of effective ministry
with young and older adolescents published by the USCCB, 1997) and seeks to
enhance and support parish based youth ministry and catechetical program.
Please come and support the future of our Catholic Church!!
ENVELOPES ARE AT THE SIDE AND BACK TABLES for anyone who would like to help offset the costs
for our youth to attend Catholic Youth Summer Camp held at Camps Otyokwah in
